Further down it stops sorting altogether: 1,506 units from the 2010s, 1,939 from the 1990s, 1,743 from the 1980s and 1,470 from the 1970s all sit within their own uncertainty of one another, and across the four of them the widest gap, 1,939 against 1,470, comes to 469 units with 472 of error on it. Firm or soft, those rows count buildings, and a building count identifies nothing bolted inside one.

So what you get told about a door here comes in two pieces, in that order: what could be read off it with everything still bolted where it was, and what waited on something being unbolted before anybody could answer it honestly. If a part is named to you before the first of those has happened, it is worth asking where that came from.
