The first question on the phone is not which part. It is where the door is standing and what it was doing when it got there — how far it got, which way it was going, whether it slid back down or stayed put, whether the motor kept running after the door quit moving, whether somebody has already pulled the manual release. Hence the order. Tell us where the door stopped and what it did getting there, then leave it alone — a guess at which part is at fault keeps every bit as well as the census does, and there is all the time in the world to take that one apart in the driveway.
