What does have to change is its setup: the travel limits and the force settings were learned against the old door, and a new door of a different weight needs both re-set and the safety reverse re-tested. We do that as part of the installation. The one case where the opener has to be looked at seriously is a much heavier insulated door going onto an opener that was already at the edge of what it could lift.
